The Sheathing Is Warped

An additional sign of a bad job is roof warpage around the sheathing. Roof sheathing, otherwise known as decking, is a robust layer of wooden boards attached to the joists and trusses of your roof. It’s not the topmost layer of your roof, but it does provide a lot of structural support to the structure as a whole because shingles and roof tiles are attached to it. That means that it should carry the weight of your roof tiles, which can get heavy, depending on your tiles of choice. If your sheathing is warping, it either means that the wood that was used isn’t strong enough to carry that weight, or it has sustained water damage.
